I personally don't know what would be better choice, but I'd like to point
out one thing - what if you don't have enough space on the side? For
example "at left" would definitely not work for me as I have only small
clock next to the arrow, so there would be no space left. In fact, even the
"at center" wouldn't fit here :) And I think this is how it is on default
panels (the systray right next to the clock).
