Where are the freezes?

i'm taking the fault on that for marking it as ship it not thinking about the 
freeze, sorry :/

now, we have the alternative of reverting it (and pushing it again on master 
as soon as 4.9 is branched off) or keeping it as is. what's the least painful 
way?
