some simple tasks

I took a look at this one:

Instead of making the columns to have an equal size I made them
fitting to their content (seemed to be easier to implement). There's a
screenshot which shows the result:

Currently the window is becoming a bit wider but I think this can be fixed.
Is it okay or do you think that equal sized columns are better?
