it doesn't crash here at all. what it does is quit. when the current plasmoid 
is destroyed, plasmoidviewer exits. and guess what "switch to classic menu" 
does? ;)

"switch to classic menu" is a hack (which i personally never liked) which 
deletes the current plasmoid and creates another one.

(a better solution would be to make the one plasmoid, launcher, able to switch 
the interface between the menu and the kickoff style)
