been tried in the past:
issues are: wallpaper plugins don't have widgets and asking phonon for frames 
images one by one gets you like a frame each 5 seconds or something like that 

so if having a video as a qgraphicsproxywidget is slow, having a video as a 
wallpaper is 1k times slower :p
