Subject: [KDE Usability] Plasma - Add Widgets screen

When rightclicking on the desktop (or a panel) and choosing 'Add Widget',
Plasma shows this nightmare of usability at the bottom of the screen where you
are supposed to find what you are looking for either by:
- mostly hidden, huge (no more than 12 icons fit on my 16:10 screen with
1280px), meaningless (e.g. five clock icons for five different clock
Plasmoids) icons for the Plasmoids themselves with tiny descriptions with two
hardly visible arrows on the side which are shown whether they can be used or
not (there is a left arrow even if I'm at the utmost left item in a category)
- mostly hidden categories with just two hardly visible arrows on the right
indicating there's more to discover (if you really want to go on) and forcing
you to click once for nearly every category
- name which you probably won't remember after having installed more than 2
Plasmoids in a row and which even can be different to the name displayed in
the 'Download new Widgets' dialog.
IMO, the Add Widget screen used to be a LOT better before this horrible
makeover.
I personally find myself in the mood for exploring what the Plasmoid universe
has to offer every once in a while, but after no more than 10 minutes, I'm
completely frustrated with it and stick to my old fashioned, nearly clean
desktop.
There is not even a category offering "Just installed Plasmoids".
Note: I'm only talking about SELECTING already INSTALLED Plasmoids.
The 'Download new Widgets' (or so) dialog is not exactly the best user
experience but by far not the biggest problem here.
Will this be/has this been changed with KDE 4.5?
Regards

Moritz
