looking at the calendar DataEngine, it is sending what is essentially a tree 
of data: 

	date 0
		holiday entry
			name
			type
		holiday entry
			name
			type
	date 1
		holiday entry
			name
			type
	...

which is the source of this whole problem. i'll wok on a patch for this ...
