One can start with a bare setup, see if the leak is there, then add components 
(plasmoids, wallpaper plugins) one by one, and see when the leak starts exposing 
itself. That would give a useful hint where to look for the least. (Those components 
are fairly self-contained, making finding a specific problem much easier.)
