Plasmoids, DataEngines & GHNS

Just a random though, and maybe I have - yet again - missed something that is
already there.

The hole concept about being able to install scripted Plasmoids via GHNS is
brilliant, especially for novice and/or - like me - lazy users ;-)
But what to do when a plasmoid is dependent on a DataEngine that needs to be
downloaded and installed manually from opendesktop.org/kde-look.org? AFAIK
there is no category for scripted DataEngines there?
Someone told me that X-KDE-PluginInfo-Depends isn't really used in Plasmoids?
Would it be possible to create some kind of installation hook that checks
whether X-KDE-PluginInfo-Depends (or somewhere else) contains a link to an
installable DataEngine and then ask the user if she also wants to install
that?

This is just my ignorant ramblings because I have no idea of the inner
workings of things.
