replace "double spin-box" with some other widget and "one for the delay of 
hiding" and repeat a dozen or three times.

features without demonstrable merit that offsets the cost of them will not be 
included. period.

when that option goes into places of "higher value" like the panel controller, 
the cost goes up. ditto for code complexity.

if we put in even a good portion of the options that get requested that don't 
make that basic grade we'd be completely screwed at this point.

that's why.
