PlasMate && KDevplatform issue

Sorry I'm still on this list, somehow the unregistering didn't work. Anyway
now to the subject:
In what way are you integrating with kdevplatform here? And more importantly:
Why don't you make plasmate a fully kdevplatform based application?
kdevplatform is built exactly for such kinds of applications. It will also be
the base of the next quanta. It may be not perfect yet, but since kdevelop is
aiming for a release in about half a year, which might also match the plasmate
plans, it should be in a good shape until then.
If the UI is not a perfect match, it could be improved (Especially allowing
multiple toolviews on each side using dock-widgets).
But you'd get a lot right out of the box:
- Find-in-files
- Problem reporter
- Area concept, working-sets (if wished)
- Quick Open, code-completion, code-browsing, call-graphs, etc., given that
there would be some duchain support
- Konsole integration
- Project management
- Qt documentation integration
While the outline view you are planning to develop would also be a very useful
feature for kdevelop and quanta. Basically for any application.
And it would be a real shame if Quanta and Plasmate would not share their
javascript support code, although you seem to be considering that already.
More code-sharing leads to more code quality.
Greetings, David
