what do you feel is missing exactly? ( i have some ideas, but i want to see 
what yours are without biasing you first ;)

i mean, other than platform independence which is why we:

a) created Plasma::Package
b) are promoting non-compiled components (JavaScript, e.g.)

which renders that part of your email solved.
