tried to hack aroud it a little bit, now the layout update signal is bounced 
around until it reaches the applet level, so all the sizes even this of the 
panel are updated,
looking around it i maybe find the concept of the Layoutwidget class a bit 
overkill, but maybe it's just an impression :)
