it really wouldn't be that much work if we keep it simple and e.g. mimic what 
we had in kicker (collapse into a button that shows a menu when pressed)

i'd like to use the new widget, but as i haven't looked at it pretty much at 
all, it's a hard call to make. i've svn cp'd the new widget into playground 
under base/plasma/applets/tasks-refactor so that more people can easily get at 
it... i'm building it now and will be examining the code shortly.
