KRunner kills keyboard?

Had experienced almost the same problem. kded4 (but also kded did) freezed at 
some point with global shortcuts and "locked" the keyboard. The system saw it 
as I was keeping the 'alt' key pressed. Amarok was one of the worse beast for 
that (well, I use a lot of global shortcuts with it). Killing it restored the 
normal behiavour.
