as a side note: toggling the dashboard on timer completion is making all sorts 
of assumptions that just aren't true, namely:

* the applet is running in the Plasma workspace app (actual example where this 
breaks right now: the plasma screensaver overlay)

* the applet is in a Planar containment shown in the desktop space (e.g. not 
on a panel)

* the applet is in a Containment that is currently being viewed

you probably want to rethink that one..

also ... why does it grab keyboard and mouse?

the FIXMEs about memory leaks in contextualActions are also correct. =/
