absolutely.
when we were discussing the idea of "launching applications", which is the
primary UI (PUI) for these things we decided on a side list because we can
make nice big targets and a big krunner-like buttons that are easily "thumbed"
as you note.
we specifically did not want a pull out menu in this case with a desktop
showing because it's much harder to create an easily thumb/fingerable system in
a menu unless you make that menu really big (e.g. take up the whole screen =)
speaking of such things, i'd really like at some point later down the line
look at how we can merge / integrate with canola better.
right now canola "takes over" the device with it's own info bar, etc, which
shouldn't be necessary with the plasma MID design. it would also be great for
us to conspire^Wcollaborate on art direction so we can provide a canola theme
that melds nicely with whatever we come up with for the plasma MID, and in the
other direction maybe take some hints for the plasma MID-tuned theme from
canola.
