cool; i'm not sure if the brief description on the wiki was detailed enough or
not, but if not here are some more of my thoughts on the matter:
the bulk of the work would likely entail creating a Containment class that
provides a full screen icon based application launch and navigation
interface. what would be neat with this Containment is that it would also
likely embed within it the functions the panel does on the desktop (system
tray, etc)
embedding webkit directly into that Containment when the user goes to open
a "web browser" makes lots of sense as well i think (lower memory
consumption, you can do some cool transitions between whatever nav UI and the
web area). but that particular bit might be difficult to finish in just three
months unless a webkit kpart emerges in that time (as that would take care of
most of the needed integration work for e.g. cookies, networking, etc)
other possible avenues of exploration in this area could include:
* on screen text entry (keyboard? cell phone pad style? dasher?)
* tweaking an Animator to fit the system's limitations, if any
* ...
