agreed; this sort of brings up the question in my mind if we shouldn't have a 
FormFactor for this kind of situation, or some other sort of hint?, so that a 
plasma view can push the PlasmaApp into this mode of behaviour at runtime.

that way we can actually merge this code into trunk/ later without disturbing 
the non-touch screen / small form factor use cases.

do you have any thoughts on how you'ld like to see this happen in the long 
term? if not, we could discuss it on panel-devel at kde.org a bit perhaps (don't 
know if you are on that list or not, and too lazy on this hot sunday evening 
to look ;)
