Michael:
I am unaware of recent trouble regarding comments like mine. So, apparently I am not in the position to personally address Aaron or anyone else the way that I did. I apologize, and I will be sure to read the Community Howto before I file any more bugs or comment on bugs.
I will also search bugzilla and try to find the recent offending comments, so that I will know what _not_ to do. Being how vast Bugzilla is, and it's limited search facilities are obviously not designed for this type of search, so if you could link to the offending content I will read it and learn.
Obviously, my intentions are to help make KDE better, for myself and for other KDE users. I tried to tread very carefully and explain myself in my post on this bug, yet to express the harm that is being caused by such secrecy and ignoring of user's wishes. I have no intention of trolling nor of upsetting the devs, quite the opposite, I encourage and support the KDE devs. Although I cannot contribute code, I have contributed money to KDE via Paypal several times, in fact, twice in 2008 alone.
Again, I apologize if my comments were seen as an attack, and I hope that there are no hard feelings. That said, I still am surprised and disappointed to see comments such as "nope, not re-opening. and if someone does provide a patch to make this go away or configurable or what not it'll happily live outside of trunk" by a KDE developer. I personally feel very unwelcome in a community with that attitude.
