Yeah.. it takes some time to load on my system too (3-5 seconds) :-(
My System: Intel Pentium D805( 3,9GHz), 2GB DDR2 667Mhz, NVIDIA 8800GTS 640MB (nvidia 173.14.09), openSUSE 11.0 x86

happens in trunk compiled from source (on the above system) and also on precompiled packages from opensuse (it has been so slow since dashboard has been introduced).

imho the dashboard should be preloaded in the background! (or at least it's startuptime should be improved a lot)
