Inconsistencies confusing me

the Icon applet is not displayed in Add Applets due to missing configuration UI 
for it. you can, however, create one in a number of ways (ranging from

really what's needed is a nice application icon configuration dialog so we can 
show an "Application Icon" widget.

yes, the properties dialog tries to update the system versus make a local copy 
of the .desktop file. kicker used to hold its hand a lot more. plasma will need 
to hold its hand a bit as well, which it doesn't currently do.

if you changed it on the desktop, then you've changed the menu entry. they 
represent the actual entry (Terminal).

right click -> settings -> uncheck "Switch tabs on hover".
