Let me clarify my question: How are people supposed to make the connection
between "get rid of that annoying cashew-thing in the corner" and "change my
desktop containment"?

Let me explain what I do understand:

(a) I have a nifty Plasma desktop, with applets and panels and things on it.
(Cool.)
(b) I can do everything I need with the context menu. (Also cool.)
(c) There's this toolbox thingy I never use taking up space in the corner.
(Eh, it's not hurting anyone.)
(d) Short of patching, I can't get the thingy to go away. (Frickin'
annoying.)

I'm not sure how a greater understanding of the Plasma vision/architecture is
at all relevant to the above. Yes, there may be a whole host of
architectural/design reasons why the above are true. But none of those
reasons fix my problem.

Maybe. You have yet to explain to me how you're planning to solve my problem.
All I've read from you in this bug amounts to hand-waving, and really
complicated ways of saying "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, so STFU!".

I won't be disappointed? Great! HOW will I not be disappointed? How does
your Plasma vision include a solution to this bug report?

I understand these are hard (that is, frustrating and/or annoying) questions.
And if they're really that frustrating, maybe walking away for a bit is a good
thing. But when you have calmed down, please do us the professional courtesy
of answering them.
