Summary: Plasma 4.1 beta 1 crashes on startup
           Product: plasma
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Compiled Sources
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: crash
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: panel-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: rodney gedda info

Version: 4.1 beta 1 (using Devel)
Installed from: Compiled sources
OS: Linux

I know similar reports have been filed, but this is quite new with KDE 4.1 beta 1. I reported it downstream to Kubuntu:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdebase-workspace/+bug/236993

but reporting here also as KDE devs may find it useful. Here's the report...

Running Kubuntu Hardy.

Just upgraded to the new KDE 4.1 beta 1 packages and now I can't get a KDE 4.x desktop as plasma crashes right after login. I can log in but there's no kickoff, applets, etc, just a black screen with a mouse cursor. Can only launch apps with krunner.

Here's the backtrace....

Hope this helps. Will definitely need to resolve before these much anticipated packages are announced to Kubuntu users.
