nope, not re-opening. and if someone does provide a patch to make this go away or configurable or what not it'll happily live outside of trunk/.

seriously, give us a couple of releases so you all actually start to be able to see what we're working towards.

the people in this report seem to be working from mostly simplified or outright incorrect assumptions. i don't expect otherwise since it's really not possible to get the proper context right now from the outside. we're working on fixing that, and time spent right now making this configurable just detracts from those goals. it also means that a good portion of people won't actually start to grok why it's there in the first place.

the recent commit by Binner to show the tools automatically when dashboard comes up is a good example of why we want it, btw.

so .. yeah. i respect your viewpoints, but they are not based on a solid understanding of the issues at hand.
