dolphin does not have wallpaper in the background. it has a solid background 
behind everything, so it doesn't have to worry about readability.

stoppit! stop saying "multiple icons". say "multiple applets". remind yourself 
that there can be all sorts of other things on the desktop, and we should 
keep the special-case icon stuff to an absolute minimum.

now, let's look at that again: selecting multiple applets on the desktop? what 
would users want to do with that? what might it be useful for? how will it 
look?
