Ok, I try to explain in simpler words. [x] widget is at position 100x100. Zoom "widget" is at position 100x100. When you close the window, "zoom widget" sees the mouse cursor as its placement and starts animation.
And no -- it is not BELOW, it is in the background.
Is the screenshot needed? Be my guest.

What purpose serves this animations if you don't use zoom tool at all? Could you answer this simple question? -- thank you.
