[Bug 153872] Comic Strip Plasmoid does not load XKCD comic

I believe he is refering to the archive [1], which has the published
date of each comic in the title-attribute.

IMHO it might be worth investigating a different approach than the
date-based one for xkcd though. Half the time we'll end up showing a
"No comic available message". I realize the applet and data engine use
the date to identify comics and I am fine with that. But if there is
some easy way to change or work around this for xkcd which I have
overlooked it would probably provide for a better user experience.
