We could -- until HAL or other backends support it -- have it in Solid and be
able to kickstart it from other apps. The 'application' that has invoked the
suspend would then send such a signal after the suspend() function returns
and HAL relays it to individual applications (such as plasma, or
krunner_lock, or do network magic, ...). It's a very useful thing to have
indeed.
