How to reproduce:

Click with right mouse button on the desktop then select configure desktop.

Now click the picture menu and with the mouse, scroll down till you have almost reached the end
of the wallpapers list. Now Hold down Up-arrow key.

On my system this will show a list of one wallpaper replayed, with the same preview, title and author.

I noticed this behaviour also with kde 4.0.0
