kickoff text not easily readable.

Is anyone working on this or is there a b.k.o filed for it yet?  This bug 
exists in Kubuntu's bug list and is assigned to Richard Johnson (cc'd).  If 
he gets to it before anyone else maybe he can send the patch upstream.
