Applet resizing

Hi . 
I am running 4.0.1 and I am trying to finish my first applet.
My main problem is applet resizing.
I use plasmoidveiwer to test my applet and there, it seems to work fine.
When I install it on the desktop though, the window has  a fixed ratio, and it 
is very annoying.

1. Is it a bug? Is it fixed in svn?
2. Even if that behaviour (fixed ratio on resize) is acceptable. How can I 
control the ratio ?
