Suggestion for plasma items: when you "close" a plasmoid which has a file in Desktop folder, it should delete also that file (or ask for its deletion) because when you restart you will see that plasmoid again. For example, I installed some windows application with wine, and it created a .lnk file in Desktop. But the X icon does not delete that file. So my suggestion would be an option to also delete the file if exists, a dialog for example.
