Applet browser resizing speed

Hi all,

I have been taking a look on why the applet browser is so slow when resizing. I
have to say that the attached patch makes it goes faster, but is still a bit slo
wer than the rest of the dialogs.

I have to take a deeper look on why could this be happening. There is an interes
ting observation that one can do: I have problems with the alien widgets while r
esizing (this is a known problem). Well, with all dialogs when I resize to make
the window bigger, the window seems to ignore me, and it does only work for me c
orrectly with the Applet browser, what makes me think that it could be somehow f
orcing repaints or resizings internally.

I have taken a look to the code but I can't find where this behavior can be trigg
ered, anyway I'm going to have a more deeper look.

For now, what's for sure is that the attached patch makes the dialog be faster w
hen resizing.

Please try it and tell me. Remember that if you are on a KDE4 full environment,
after applying, compiling and installing the patch, you will need to do "kquitap
p plasma; plasma&" for you to see it, since it is a change on a library.

Can this patch be committed ?

Bye,
Rafael Fernández López.
