[Bug 157731] The 'Traditional' or 'Classic' or 'old' menu is poorly named as Application Launcher Menu

It's still improperly named then, because the primary, big bold letters name makes me think it's something it's not, thus I skip over the thing which explains it, since I perceive that's likely not useful information.  Which is probably the same conclusion most other users will reach.

You want a future perfect name for it?  How about describing it in one of these ways.

Instead of: "Application Launcher Menu"
"Simple Application Menu"
"Light Weight Application Menu"
"1990s Style Menu"

Just something, anything, in the actual big bold name to tell me what kind of menu it is.  Otherwise it's just as good as adding all your menus like...

Menu 1
Menu 2
Menu 3

...and describing them beneath the menu entries. (However at least if you did it that way I'd know I needed to read the text beneath it to figure out what they were.)
