irc meeting and api change marathon?

Hi all,
i'm dropping the idea here and then i don't know if we'll find a suitable 
day/hour for everyone, but...
we would really need an irc meeting with a porting marathon to the new api, 
because i think it probably is really a precondition to start to fix the many 
breakages that there are now.
i've tried some times to start some api change but often i really couldn't 
make sense on why/how the modifies are, so if we are many people/brains at 
the same time probably the doubt that i think almost everyone has on the new 
apis would vanish :)

seems a sane idea/ feasible?
