In the default configuration, the K-kickoff menu does not have a clickable area that includes the extreme lower-left corner. Since going to the menu is a very common action, and a corner is an easy place to navigate to, the menu should be able to be activated from the extreme lower-left corner. I often just kind of throw my mouse into that corner to get to it (as I imagine would be common), and it's a bit weird to have it not pick that up.
