Throwing the mouse at the toolbox real quick

Hi.
Since r781885 throwing the mouse at the toolbox really quick does not expand 
it. This seems to be an unintentional side effect caused by non-continuous 
event positions, am I correct?
If so, how would I go about fixing it? It does seem to be unfixable to me, as 
we have no control over the frequency of events, nor can we rely on the 
presence of kwin to give us more info about the event.
