sorry, it's one of those things that's scattered across the interwebs and
irc... marble wants it done too, so it might be mentioned on some marble
page...

I dunno. the existing widget is so... frustrating. oh, someone suggested that
I add a search filter to it. I thought that the existing feature of going to
the letters as typed was good-enough, until I discovered they're not
perfectly in alphabetical order, and can't be sorted in any way... when I
went looking for a timezone for italy, I ended up scrolling slowly through
the list waiting for the italy flag to show up.
so there's a few things that can be done to ease the pain there before adding
the ability to pick multiple zones. filters and sorting might actually make
it bearable, even.
