Summary: Icons on the panel should launch using single-click
           Product: plasma
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: panel-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: elez_d yahoo com

Version: (using KDE 4.0.3)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

The icons on the system panel should always launch their respective applications using a single-click, even if the user asked for 'double-click to open files' on system-settings.
There is no reason to double-click system panel icons, because you never need to "select" them.

On Dolphin, for instance, a single-click (when in double-click mode) selects the icon and marks it, and you can now perform different actions on the selected icon.
On the other hand, you don't "select" icons, you have just ONE action you need to be doing with them - launch the application they're associated with.

p.s. This is also the case for the system-settings icons. I'm writing this here in case the solution is similar/identical.
