Yep, commenting createDefaultPanels(); in plasma.cpp helps :-)

Actually it seems to work when I run plasma in a window. And when 
setting "Special application settings..." so plasma starts with the same size 
and position it's pretty nice way to test/develop plasma in KDE3 environment.
