you need to svn up and possibly delete the plasma config files =) though
hopefully the latter shouldn't be necessary ......
i've recently fixed both showing an empty menu (should you receive such a
thing, which you shouldn't ;) as well as not having a default containment
when there is no plugin listed in the config file (which should net you a
desktop containment now)
when was your last svn up and build in workspace/?

that's a per-runner issue. runners that *can* do subtext matching are
completely free and welcome to do so. for instance, the calculator runner
does that =)
and to be perfectly fair, in kde3's minicli the auto-complete was *only* for
things you'd already run previously. to get parity there all we need to add
is autocompletion to the search text box and update it on being run. i have
held off on those kinds of tweaks, though, until the new krunner interface is
ready. i've only been touching "guts" rather than interface as much as
possible due to that.
