IIRC, Kevin-of-Solid (he loves it when you call him that) said that such 
information should come from elsewhere, e.g. libksysguard ... as far as i'm 
concerned, i think this will be a common request and the data, regardless of 
where it comes from, should be added to the data engine. however, i don't 
think we should be using statfs calls directly, but KMountPoint (if 
necessary, does Solid provide the mount point or just the device?) and 
KDiskFreeSpace, both of which are in libkio ... example usage can be seen in 
kdebase/apps/dolphin/statusbarspaceinfo.cpp
