hm... if a screen is off... we should just ignore it altogether; this would 
allow us to simply ignore that screen instead of using the "do the geometries 
intersect" hack, right?

if i'm understanding this correctly: this geometry crud seems to screw over 
xinerama in general since when the screen is activated then the geometries 
may all change, right? which means that what we were pretending was screen 0 
is now screen 1, etc? 

that's not something ksplashx needs to worry about, but the desktop certainly 
does. so yes, if we can figure out which screens are deactivated via xrandr 
and then simply *ignore* them, we'll probably be ok as the containments will 
be associated with the correct screen numbers and geometries.
