that just guarantees it bitrots forever. may as well svn rm it at that point 
(which you can for all i care, tbh)

unfortunately that's not realistic given how applets can be written.

so this is pretty much a non-issue then: you can't get to the stand-alone 
dialog from dashboard, and when dashboard goes away so does its add widgets 
area.
