i think i actually may still have svg icons around for these things.. i'll 
have to look, but i'm 99% sure .. so this issue could go away quickly.

this happens most often when a mousePressEvent or mouseReleaseEvent forgets to 
either accept() the event or pass the event to the superclass's event 
handler.

with the "applets disappear" fix in, i think so =)

this should help root out the cause of that mysterious crash too by getting 
more people testing it...
