hm. this implies mostly fixed size layouts then? none of the QWidgets have 
such a thing in their ctor's. i can see if you are pixel positioning elements 
together to make an applet, which is how things worked in SK iirc. i wonder 
how that will work for i18n, non-fixed layouts (qlayout type things), etc...

i think that works; would've been nice to have the other lineedit, but 
licensing prevents that =/ we'll just have to make do (or else clean-room a 
new lineedit =)
