I for one agree with you on this; regardless of what I think of the coding 
style itself, consistency is important.
so far I've been trusting that .vim file to magically enforce coding style on 
me. :) I wish there was such a thing for kate, too - it seems kinda silly 
that I can't use kate to work on kde code properly. (of course, for the last 
week it's just been crashing on my system anyways, but still...)
