this is the definition of irony. well, that and rudeness.

David, here's how it works: if you think something is obviously missing, perhaps you wish to ask the developers first. because chances are it occurred to us before you ever downloaded the code to compile it. maybe not, ergo the asking. but usually it has. we're not quite the idiots your bug report might have one think we are.

if you do feel you've discovered something that isn't being paid attention to, however, and you are going to file a report then to be taken as a serious report which will be followed up with sensible action, please do the following:

- note specific issues ("complete loss of functionality" is not only hyperbole, since i can mention things plasma's panels can already do that kicker's can't, but it is devoid of useful content)

- provide specific improvement requests. with this report, should i take it under consideration, perhaps i'll go implement applet handles to manipulate applets but what you were *really* after was resizing or hiding or maybe something completely else.

if you find this reply to be a downer, please consider that instead of ignoring your report or dismissing it out of hand, i have taken the time here to provide realistic feedback as to what will make better reports in the future. by making quality bug reports, you vastly increase the odds that what you are after will actually come to be. and that is, after all, whatever everyone here wants to see happen.
