On a side note, should SK be ported to Qt4 or should we focus on writing 
things into Plasma and porting at the same time?

several people are saying the same thing about kicker =) so.. i kind of have 
an ethical imperitive here to get moving. you can join whenever works for 
you, but i'll be focussing new development on the kde4 branch starting 
monday.
